Message from Secretary

The President and members would like to thank you for your support in buying Duck Cluk tickets this year. Your support as always has been invaluable.

We are making plans to update our website with more information on events we hold throughout the year. We are aware that the the Duck Race has been cancelled for the last two years. This has been due to heavy rain fall and consequently high volumes of water in the river Swale by the Falls.

We are now looking towards next year to try very hard to have something in place so that the race goes ahead. Futher details will start to appear on the website which will be also linkto Duck Club Facebook account. This will be updated from March 2017 in order for visitors to be informed of future plans for the race.

I would like to take this opportunity to apologise for the limited information that the race had been cancelled prior to the start time of 2pm.

There will be updated information located at the Batts, Friary Gardens and the start point which is the Green Bridge. If this event is to be cancelled these locations will have this information.

Forthcoming events – Duck Club Sports day at Richmond Cricket Club on August Bank Holiday Monday, Halloween Party on 29th October at the Richmond Town Hall and Duck Club Christmas lights switch on in the Friary Gardens which will be on the 2nd December.

Racing post Tips

The story of a champion’s summer

After a blistering performance at the last castle tavern race night where the results were so good you could have been accused of Fakenham, this mount has had an action packed summer.

A whistle stop tour of the Norfolk social scene has seen this champion stallion make a guest appearance at the Great Yarmouth “End of the Pier Show “, where the crowd were jockeying for position to meet him.

He performed a celebrity opening of the Cromer Crab Festival though sadly was one of the few males not to catch crabs in Cromer.

A grand tour of the Colman’s factory failed cut the mustard and our hero decided to reign in his celebrity appearances as he was chomping at the bit to get back into training.

Not even the lure of a cameo in Neighbours could tempt this horse from his regime despite nagging from his fans.

So after a period of hard work and effort he returns, triumphant, to the Castle Tavern to support the Duck Club (despite his many fans thinking him quackers).

So open up your wallets and get backing him, he has to be a shoe-in for a win.
